Library Apps

Ebook Central is a collection of 300,000+ academic ebooks covering a wide range of topics. 

You can read these books online without any special software, but you'll need the Ebook Central app if you want to download the ebooks to your device(s). Downloaded books can be read offline. 

1. Search the App Store or Google Play store for "Ebook Central." Look for an app offered by ProQuest/Clarivate.
   
2. Download and install the app on your device. 
3. In a separate browser, log in to your Ebook Central account to get the login code you'll need to sync your account across devices.
   1. After logging in, click on "Profile."
   2. Then, click on "Manage | Get Code" by the label "EBC App Devices." 
4. Enter the log in code when prompted.

Find content from Ebook Central in the COCC Library Search or directly through the Ebook Central website. (Note: The app is for reading only; you can't search for books from within the app.) Links in Library Search will lead you to the Ebook Central website. 

1. Within Ebook Central click on "download book."
   
2. If you aren't already signed in, you'll be prompted to sign in. 
3. Click "confirm" to move forward with borrowing the ebook.
   
4. A confirmation message will appear with the loan expiration date. 
   
5. When you open the app, the book will appear on your bookshelf. Download it to be able to read it offline.
