COCC Barber Library subscribes to The New York Times!

All COCC staff, students and faculty can register for accounts to get unlimited access to articles online and on the NYTimes app. This also includes access to historic articles via the TimesMachine.

1. Go to https://library.cocc.edu/login?url=https://ezmyaccount.nytimes.com/grouppass/redir.
2. Click "Create Account" and sign up with your COCC email address and a password. It does not have to be your COCC password. This is a separate account.
3. Once you create an account, you can log in to nytimes.com directly from any device. You can also install the free NYTimes app (instructions below).

NYT access permissions for COCC accounts expire after 364 days. Your NYT account will still exist, but it will no longer be associated with Barber Library's subscription.

To reactivate your access...

1. Go to https://library.cocc.edu/login?url=https://ezmyaccount.nytimes.com/grouppass/redir.
2. Click "Already have an account? Log in here."
3. Enter your COCC email address and the password you set for your NYT account.
   • If you've forgotten your password, visit nytimes.com directly. Log out of your account (if necessary) and click Log In. Click "Forgot your password?" to reset it.
   • Not getting the password reset email?
   • Add nyt@service.newyorktimes.com to your email contact list and click the "reset password" link again. It may take a few minutes for the email to appear in your inbox.
   • If you're still having trouble, use the NYT Help page to contact New York Times Support.
4. Fill out the other form fields and click "Log in."
5. Your access is now reactivated. You will see a confirmation screen that tells you the new expiration date for your account.

The NYTimes app is available for Apple (iOS) and Android devices.

1. Install the free NYTimes app on your phone or tablet. 
2. Open the app menu and find the Settings. Select the "Log In or Create Account" option.
3. Log in using your COCC email and the password you entered during registration.

Your NYT account also gives you access to the New York Times Archived Articles and TimesMachine, allowing you to discover articles all the way back from the first edition in 1851.
